2026 FIFA World Cup Tickets: Everything You Need to Know

The 2026 FIFA World Cup Tickets is the biggest sporting event in history. Getting tickets is the dream of millions of fans. Here is a complete overview of what you need to know before trying to buy.

THE TOURNAMENT

48 teams. 104 matches. 16 venues. 3 host nations. June 11 to July 19, 2026. The USA hosts 78 matches, Mexico hosts 13 and Canada hosts 13. Every match from the quarterfinals onward takes place in the USA.

THE TICKET DEMAND

FIFA received over 500 million total ticket requests across all official sales phases. FIFA President Gianni Infantino declared all 104 matches sold out through official channels. However, ticket availability still exists through the official Resale Marketplace and through the Last-Minute Sales Phase opening in early April 2026.

THE FIVE TICKET TIERS

Supporter Entry Tier: $60 flat. Through national federations only.
Category 4: Most affordable public tier. Host nation residents with proof of residency.
Category 3: Upper tier. Starting from $75-$100 for group stage.
Category 2: Mid-bowl. Mid-range pricing.
Category 1: Lower bowl. Best seats. Most expensive.

PRICE RANGE

Cheapest available: $60 (Supporter Entry Tier, federation distribution)
Group stage non-host games: $120 to $265 at lower categories initially
Group stage host nation games: $1,400 to $3,300+
Final at MetLife Stadium: $2,030 to $7,875 face value

WHAT IS DYNAMIC PRICING

FIFA uses dynamic pricing for the first time in 2026. This means ticket prices are not fixed at a single amount. They change based on demand, the teams involved, the venue, the round and the timing of purchase. Buying earlier in the sales cycle generally means lower prices. Waiting until closer to matchday, especially for popular games, means higher prices.

THE FIFA ID

All tickets require a FIFA ID. This is a free account at FIFA.com. Your ticket is digital and linked to your FIFA ID. You need the FIFA app on your phone to enter the stadium. No paper tickets exist for 2026.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOUR TEAM DOES NOT ADVANCE

If you bought tickets for a team-specific match (for example, France vs. Group I opponent) and France exits early, you keep your ticket for that match slot. The teams change but the venue and date do not. FIFA does not issue refunds simply because your team is eliminated.

TRANSFER RULES

Tickets can be transferred to another person once. The recipient must have a FIFA ID to accept the transfer. Transfers must be completed 48 to 72 hours before the match. FIFA strictly enforces this. Do not attempt to transfer tickets at the stadium.

HOSPITALITY

For guaranteed access to the best seats, FIFA's official hospitality partner On Location offers packages with confirmed tickets plus premium amenities. These are the most reliable option but the most expensive.
